Lush allocates £250,000 to combat animal testing

Lush, the cosmetics company co-founded by Poole residents Mo and Mark Constantine, held its 2026 Lush Prize Awards at its Perfume Library in Soho on May 12. The Lush Prize, aimed at ending animal testing, has awarded £3.19 million since 2012 to support research initiatives globally. Lush director Karl Bygrave stressed the need for continued advocacy for animal welfare in cosmetics. This year’s awards recognized achievements like Dr. Zohreh Izadifar’s groundbreaking work on human tissue chip technology. Local initiatives, including support for local charities through the 5p carrier bag scheme, further reflect Lush’s commitment to animal welfare and environmental sustainability.
