Dorset Council has secured £280,000 for upgrades at Westham Bridge, following a petition led by local councillor Matt Bell. The funding will replace the aging water level management system, improving control over levels at Radipole Lake and mitigating surface water flooding. New automated penstocks will enhance maintenance access and safety, eliminating the need for divers. This initiative aims to address long-standing issues affecting the lake and aligns with broader regeneration plans for Weymouth. The upgrades will reduce ongoing maintenance costs and support the town’s economic growth and sustainability efforts.
