Care home residents express heartfelt gratitude to nurses

International Nurses Day was celebrated at Colten Care homes, including Woodpeckers in Brockenhurst, to honor Florence Nightingale’s legacy. Recently retired nurse Sarah Mott returned to Woodpeckers, highlighting the home’s supportive environment that shaped her nursing career. Colten Care’s COO, Elaine Farrer, emphasized the organization’s commitment to nursing excellence, evident in seven homes being rated Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission. The event featured residents, many of whom were former nurses, visiting Southampton’s Princess Anne Hospital to deliver gifts, reinforcing the theme “Our nurses. Our future,” which underscores the critical role of nursing in global health.
