The Great Big Dorset Hedge (GBDH) project will host seven events from May 30 to June 7 during the Society for Ecological Restoration’s Make a Difference Week. Volunteers will survey hedgerows, collect data, and support restoration efforts in Dorset. John Calder, the project manager, emphasized the ecological importance of hedgerows in connecting species and ecosystems. The initiative aims to engage communities in fostering biodiversity. Last year, over 8,000 volunteers participated in similar global projects. More information and volunteer registration can be found on the Dorset Climate Action Network website.
