On May 14, 2026, Dorset Police and David Sidwick’s office launched a training program to enhance responses to honour-based abuse in the county. Funded through a £5,000 grant and additional support from the Police and Crime Commissioner, the three-day course, delivered by Karma Nirvana, trained 23 officers and staff on recognizing warning signs, cultural sensitivities, and victim support. Honour-based abuse includes various forms of violence often under-reported in the UK. Paul Graham emphasized the valuable skills acquired for effective investigations, while Sidwick highlighted the initiative’s alignment with his Police and Crime Plan to ensure victims feel supported and protected.
