A limited-edition Marmite jar, “Newport Rise and React,” has sold for £550 after being inherited by David Walker from his late wife, Laura, an avid memorabilia collector. This collectible, numbered 150 of 150, is part of a satirical art series by anonymous street artist Rise Propaganda and highlights Newport’s culture. David, who dislikes Marmite, was pleased the jar went to a private buyer who values it. These jars have become sought-after items, with previous sales exceeding their original prices. Rise Propaganda is also known for other Newport-themed artwork related to local music and culture.
