Jacqui Rix, 47, from Verwood, completed a walking challenge from Minehead to Poole in memory of her late husband, George, who died from prostate cancer in March 2025. After finding George’s old walking gear and journals, she was inspired to undertake the journey. Despite facing difficulties like bad weather and injuries, she persevered, feeling George’s presence throughout. Friends and family supported her along the way, and she has raised over £4,300 for Prostate Cancer UK and University Hospitals Dorset. Jacqui’s journey has highlighted the shared strength in relationships and the importance of support during grief.
