On May 7, members of Dorset Animal Action protested outside Barclays, objecting to the bank’s ties with MBR Acres, a facility that breeds beagle puppies for animal testing. During the protest, a volunteer named Stacey, dressed in a dog costume, alleged that a security guard pushed her to the ground after she attempted to engage with him. Stacey described the incident as unnecessary and frightening, asserting their outreach was peaceful. Dorset Animal Action is demanding Barclays address the behavior of its security staff and calling for a campaign to sever the bank’s ties with MBR Acres. Barclays is investigating the claims.
