On May 12, residents reported sightings of around seven caravans entering Muscliff Park, establishing an unauthorized encampment near a children’s play area. There are allegations that the travellers damaged a gate lock and moved large boulders for access. Councillor Toby Slade announced that BCP staff would assess the site for welfare and educational needs, along with conducting risk assessments. Dorset Police confirmed they received reports of the encampment and have engaged with the individuals present, stating they will monitor the situation and act if necessary.
