Entries are now open for the Home Cook category of the South West Chef of the Year 2026 competition, co-founded by Michelin-starred chef Michael Caines. This event aims to showcase amateur cooking talent from the south west, including Dorset. Open to anyone aged 16 and over without catering industry experience, entrants must create two dishes using seasonal ingredients provided by organizers. Finalists will cook live at Exeter College on October 10, receiving feedback from renowned chefs. Applications close on July 31. Previous winner Steve Ashworth encourages passionate cooks to participate for growth and networking opportunities.
