Chestnut Nursery, a charitable garden center operated by mental health charity Plants and Minds, won the Community Service Award and the Best Place to Work Award at the Poole Local Business Awards on May 7. The nursery aids approximately 45 adults dealing with mental health issues through its therapeutic horticulture program, helping them gain work experience and build confidence. Manager Andy Verreck expressed gratitude for the recognition of the team’s efforts in creating a safe and inclusive environment. Currently, Chestnut Nursery is producing nearly 40,000 bedding plants and thousands of other plants for community sale.
