Green councillors quit party amid misconduct allegations

Councillors Kate and Joe Salmon from Moordown have resigned from the Green Party of England and Wales, choosing to serve as independents on BCP Council. They cited ineffective internal processes and a lack of timely action following their concerns raised since late 2024 about candidate selection and governance issues. Joe Salmon emphasized the need for fairness and transparency, while Kate noted inconsistencies in handling complaints, especially concerning safeguarding matters. Despite their departure, both councillors remain dedicated to representing their constituents with integrity. The BCP Green Party expressed regret over their resignation and wished them well in their independent roles.
