Bournemouth University’s Student Ambassadors hosted a Viking Day for Year 4 pupils at Manorside Academy in Poole, introducing them to Norse culture. The program included games, costumes, and interactive lessons on Norse life, weaponry, and runes. Teacher Dan Mundy remarked on the positive impact of engaging university students on young learners, sparking interest in higher education. Pupils prepared for the event with forest school activities, making shields and Norse-inspired food. Students expressed enjoyment, highlighting games like a Viking-themed card game. Principal Gemma Sutter praised the partnership with Bournemouth University for enriching the children’s educational experience.
