Dorset man and his pony conquer 200-mile trek challenge

Roger Sewill and his pony, Scarlet, completed a remarkable 200-mile hike from April 14 to May 5, 2023, marking their arrival at the Tolpuddle Martyrs Tree. The journey, which took approximately 650,000 steps, included visits to 30 hillforts, working farms, and notable historical sites. Roger expressed gratitude for the experience and the community support received during the hike, which aimed to raise funds for the Dorset Wildlife Trust to aid conservation efforts. The adventure, filmed for a documentary produced by Bournemouth University students, highlighted the bond between Roger and Scarlet and the beauty of Dorset’s landscape.
