On May 6, 2023, at approximately 8 PM, emergency services responded to a deliberately set fire at a derelict property on Waterloo Road in Poole. The Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service dispatched six crews, utilizing ten breathing apparatus, hose reels, and ladders to control the blaze. Residents were advised to keep doors and windows closed due to smoke, and road closures were implemented. The fire was declared under control by 11:03 PM, and a morning inspection on May 7 found no remaining hotspots. The incident prompted assistance from Dorset Police for managing traffic.
