Kittens abandoned in backpack by Upwey railway station

On May 5, a dog walker near Upwey railway station discovered abandoned kittens in a black CityFibre backpack hidden in brambles. Disturbed by the situation, she took the vulnerable kittens home, providing them with comfort and care. She subsequently sought help via social media, leading to contact with a local rescuer. The kittens are now in the care of Animals in Need – Weymouth, who has appealed for information about the person responsible for their abandonment, offering assistance for spaying their mother if needed. The incident highlights broader issues of pet abandonment and owner responsibility for litters.
