Eddie Smith, 30, from Portland, is preparing for an ultra marathon along the Jurassic Coast to raise awareness about myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS) in support of his brother Marcus, 31, who is suspected to have the condition. ME/CFS causes debilitating fatigue and various symptoms impacting daily life. Eddie, who has completed only one half marathon before, aims to raise over £1,000 for the ME Association through the 100km challenge on May 16. He emphasizes the importance of understanding this illness and reflects on the hardship of witnessing his brother’s struggles.
