Museum of East Dorset reintroducing Forget Me Knots exhibit

The Museum of East Dorset in Wimborne is reviving its Forget Me Knots installation, featuring 9,000 hand-knitted flowers to honor those affected by dementia. This display aligns with Alzheimer’s Society Dementia Action Week, running from May 18 to 24. A new addition this year is a Memory Tree, where visitors can write names or short memories related to dementia. The museum also sells knitted badges and dementia teddies to support related initiatives. Operations manager Andy Putt emphasizes the importance of raising awareness and fostering community connections, including outreach sessions for those living with dementia.
