The 2009 Kew Gardens 50p coin, celebrating 250 years since Kew Gardens’ establishment, is one of the UK’s rarest coins, with only 210,000 minted. It features the Chinese Pagoda and a portrait of the Queen. Recently, it sold for £149.16 on eBay after receiving 13 bids. While it was the rarest 50p in circulation, the newly released Atlantic Salmon coin, with only 200,000 minted, has now taken that title. The rarity and design contribute to the value of collectible 50p coins, which have become increasingly popular among collectors.
