Richard Carr’s Royal Exeter Awarded Secondary Licence

Helix Limited has applied for a shadow premises licence for the Royal Exeter Hotel in Bournemouth, recently taken over by Richard Carr. This licence allows for films, live music, and alcohol supply 24/7, serving as a backup against potential loss of the current licence. Despite 28 objections from residents concerned about noise and safety, no responsible authorities opposed the application. During the hearing, it was noted there had been no major issues over the past 20 years. The committee privately decided the shadow licence aims to protect the freeholder’s interests rather than replace the existing one.
