Two rescued from inflatable adrift at Chesil Beach

On Tuesday evening, Weymouth RNLI lifeboat crews responded to a call about two individuals in distress on an inflatable mattress drifting off Chesil Beach. The inshore lifeboat located the pair, who had been fishing, and safely brought them back to shore around 7:00 PM, where they were handed over to the Coastguard. The RNLI emphasized the dangers of using inflatables in strong offshore winds, noting that such incidents frequently lead to emergency calls. They advised beachgoers to follow safety tips, including staying close to shore and using buoyancy aids when using inflatables.
