Disturbing images reveal aftermath of motorcycle accident

On June 29, last year, Matthew Legg, 34, caused an accident at the risky Thickthorne Cross junction, pulling out in front of a visible group of motorcyclists. One rider sustained severe injuries, including a shattered pelvis and fractures, rendering him unable to work. Witnesses described the motorcyclist as appearing “lifeless” post-collision. Legg was apologetic and claimed he did not see the bikes. He pleaded guilty to causing serious injury by careless driving and received a six-month suspended sentence, a 16-month driving ban with extended retest, 225 hours of unpaid community service, and ordered to pay £1,000 in costs.
