North Dorset Police has received numerous reports of anti-social behavior (ASB) driving in Gillingham. On April 29, officers issued a Section 59 notice to a driver, warning that any further ASB driving—either in the same vehicle or another—could lead to vehicle seizure. A police spokesperson stated that this notice aims to address public concerns and encourage responsible driving. The Gillingham Neighbourhood Policing Team plans to utilize this tool more to combat ASB driving and reinforce community engagement. The hope is that the driver will adhere to the warning and share the advice with others.
