The Swanage Railway’s annual Diesel Gala and Beer Festival will take place from May 8 to May 10, featuring nine heritage diesel locomotives and a vintage ‘push-pull’ train. This year’s highlights include the Class 58 diesel No. 58 023 and the Class 438 ‘push-pull’ 4TC set No. 428. The gala offers a three-train service along the nine-mile Purbeck heritage line, with additional visiting locomotives and a beer festival featuring 40 ales and 10 ciders.
