On April 28, a Boeing AH-64E Apache Guardian helicopter conducted a training flight from Thruxton, flying over Monkton Up Wimborne and Sixpenny Handley before heading toward Salisbury. The British Army confirmed the exercise, emphasizing the aircraft’s advanced capabilities for locating and engaging potential threats, including tanks and armored vehicles. The Apache can detect and classify up to 256 targets, with various armaments such as a 30mm chain gun and Hellfire missiles. This helicopter stands 4.72 meters tall, has a rotor diameter of 14.63 meters, and can achieve speeds up to 330 kph.
