On April 19, Dorset Police reported that a rare breed Shetland sheep was attacked by a dog in Church Knowle, resulting in £1,000 worth of injuries. The female dog owner was interviewed and given a conditional caution, which includes paying the veterinary bills and following a Dog Behaviour Order. Police urged dog owners to act responsibly around livestock, especially as many ewes are in lamb. They emphasized the importance of keeping dogs on leashes in rural areas to prevent harm and distress to animals and financial losses for farmers.
