Friendly Food Club shows Dorset families meal preparation skills

Students from Wool and Lulworth & Winfrith CE Primary Schools participated in six weeks of after-school cooking sessions with the Friendly Food Club, promoting healthy eating. The program aimed to give families hands-on experience in preparing nutritious meals. Many children, facing food hesitations or sensory difficulties, benefitted from the relaxed environment, with parents witnessing improvements in their children’s food choices. Funded by the Purbeck Local Alliance Group, the initiative also provided each family with a slow cooker. The Friendly Food Club welcomes collaborations with forward-thinking schools to extend these healthy cooking opportunities to more families.
