Barry Sharman, a Southampton-based model maker, has dedicated decades to crafting intricate, scratch-built models, garnering acclaim in hobbyist circles for their realism. His collection includes notable pieces like a cutaway model of the Canadian Corvette HMCS Agassiz and naval models such as HMS Sir Kay and HMS Rattlesnake, alongside military vehicles and dioramas. Much of this collection, previously privately held, is set to be auctioned at Elliott’s Auctioneers on May 9, with viewing on May 8. Sharman’s family aims for the models to find appreciative new owners.
