Poole children discover nature at invaluable forest school

Bayside Academy in Poole has partnered with the National Trust to implement a 12-week Forest School programme for ten Year 3 and 4 students. This initiative aims to enhance curiosity, promote outdoor play, and strengthen connections with nature. To celebrate Earth Day, the pupils engaged in nature exploration guided by Victoria Vincent, a National Trust Community Ranger. Activities included examining bird nests and participating in a scavenger hunt. Principal Leanne Tucker emphasized the programme’s value for children without garden access, while Senior Behaviour Manager Adam Carter noted its positive impact on reducing screen time and encouraging engagement.
