Oak Academy’s drama students recently showcased their talents at MAST Studios, Southampton, as part of the 2026 NT Connections festival. After months of preparation, they performed “Fishville,” a comedic drama by Afsaneh Gray, reflecting themes of conspiracy—relevant to their coastal town. This marked the students’ first experience in a professional theater, enhanced by mentoring from National Theatre director Macadie Amoroso. Drama teacher Amy Joy noted the play’s resonance with their curriculum, while student Robin expressed his excitement about the collaboration with professionals. English teacher Stephanie Britland praised the group’s hard work, highlighting the performance’s success and the valuable experience gained.
