On April 23, around 3 PM, a two-vehicle crash on the A338 Downton Road led to emergency responses from South Western Ambulance Service, transporting two individuals to hospitals—one by air ambulance to Southampton General and the other by land to Salisbury District Hospital. Fire crews were also dispatched to extricate a casualty from a vehicle. The incident resulted in the closure of the A338 in both directions, causing significant travel disruption.
