Eco Sustainable Solutions proposes an upgrade for its 16.5-hectare site in Parley, near Christchurch, to improve efficiency and sustainability. The enhancements include an AI-driven sorting facility, enabling the processing of an additional 25,000 tonnes of recyclables annually, and increasing green and wood waste recycling by 5,000 tonnes. The facility’s waste management capacity will rise from 60,000 to 105,000 tonnes per year, generating enough electricity for over 30,000 homes and heating for 10,000. The expansion will create approximately 30 jobs and includes new facilities for offices and education. A public exhibition is scheduled for May 1.
