Bournemouth University (BU) and NHS Dorset’s contributions are recognized in a renewed national plan aimed at enhancing women’s healthcare over the next decade. Professor Vanora Hundley highlighted the importance of evidence-based guidance for women, especially in underserved communities. BU is involved in the NIHR Maternity Disparities Consortium to tackle pregnancy care inequalities. The strategy also includes NHS Dorset’s initiatives for managing pelvic floor dysfunction, notably through the Squeezy app, which utilizes humor to destigmatize the issue. Additionally, the Dorset Women’s Health Programme Website serves as a digital tool to improve women’s health literacy, with further support from local policymakers.
