Eve Pike, a resident at Streets Meadow care home in Wimborne Minster, has become Care Dorset’s one-thousandth resident. Born Evelyn Janet Laird Watson in London, she worked in a care home kitchen until age 70 and later owned a pub in the 1980s. After relocating to Dorset in the 1990s, she settled in the Ringwood and Verwood areas. Her daughter, Kelly, praised her resilience and positivity despite life’s challenges. Tracy Rossiter, the care home manager, celebrated Eve as a cherished resident, noting her ability to brighten everyone’s day with her fascinating life story and community spirit.
