Plans have been submitted to BCP Council for step-free access at Pokesdown Station, allowing the conversion of former goods lifts into passenger lifts. This initiative aims to provide an accessible route from the station entrance to both platforms, following a campaign that began in 2011. The revised proposal focuses solely on lift installation, with additional infrastructure improvements like new motor rooms, canopies for weather protection, resurfaced walkways, seating, and fencing. Planning documents state that consultations will conclude before officers make a decision on the application, which was submitted on April 13 under reference P/26/01669/PROTH.
