Olivia Mason, 36, from Poole, was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) eight months after her first child was born. Initially noticing symptoms at a soft play center, she underwent tests and faced the daunting reality of her condition, especially given her background as a dietitian. Despite her fears, she embraced an active lifestyle, even training for the London Marathon. Ultimately, she chose to have a second child, Iris, after careful consideration. Mason emphasizes the importance of redefining motherhood to account for one’s reality, encouraging others with chronic illnesses not to hold themselves to unattainable standards.
