First cohort of part-time trainee teachers nearing graduation

The first cohort of part-time primary teacher trainees from Poole’s Castleman Learning Network (CLN) will graduate in July after completing an 18-month program that allows them to earn a qualification while working. Director Lou Evans highlighted that the course supports balancing work and family life, accommodating trainees across Dorset, Wiltshire, and Somerset. CLN, part of the Southern Education Trust, has seen over 60 trainees finish its teaching program, leading to a PGCE and Qualified Teacher Status. With a national shortage of primary teachers, CLN encourages others to pursue this flexible route into teaching.
