Poole and Bournemouth also rank among the top areas with significant ‘singles tax’—residents pay around £7,092 and £7,085, respectively. The report highlights the financial strains on single individuals, often leading to increased debt risks. With 8.4 million adults living alone, some consider relationships for economic reasons. Rent is identified as the largest expense for single tenants.
