Campaigners Praise Government’s Action Against Fox Hunting

Labour’s commitment to close loopholes in the Hunting Act 2004 has received support from the Hunt Saboteurs Association, who argue illegal fox hunting persists despite the ban. Baroness Hayman highlighted the need for a governmental response, while conservationist Chris Packham condemned the actions of hunts observed in drone footage. In 2025, concerns were raised about trail hunting being a cover for illicit activities. Campaigners assert that for 20 years, hunts have violated the law without consequence and demand immediate legislation to enforce stricter regulations against illegal hunts, following a recent public consultation by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.
