Fantastic Success as New Traditional Pub Opens in Southbourne

The Stourfield Tavern, opened by Matthew Betteridge, a fish restaurant owner, on April 11 at 125-127 Seabourne Road, Bournemouth, aims to be a community hub. The launch weekend drew positive feedback, with many praising the Sunday carvery, touted as the best ever, featuring locally sourced meats. The pub’s classic offerings include bar snacks, themed food nights, and events like pie and curry nights, all reflecting a nostalgic 1970s and 1980s vibe. Matthew expressed relief at the successful turnout, which exceeded his expectations, and noted plans for a St George’s Day themed event on April 23.
