Preparations are underway for an archaeological dig at the former Weymouth Bowl site on St Nicholas Street. Conducted by Context One Heritage and Archaeology, the excavation aims to uncover historical remains that could shed light on the town’s past. Dorset Council is encouraging residents to share old photographs of the area, including St Nicholas Street and the former Theatre Royal, to aid researchers in identifying features revealed during the excavation. This archaeological work is part of preparations for future development at the site.
