Train passengers traveling between Weymouth and London Waterloo will experience disruptions over the Easter weekend due to essential engineering work in the Eastleigh area. From Good Friday to Easter Monday, services that typically run via Brockenhurst will be diverted, resulting in longer journeys. The line between Winchester and St Denys will be closed, with replacement buses operating between Winchester and Southampton Central. Network Rail states this maintenance is crucial for ensuring safety and reliability on a heavily used route, which accommodates around 3,500 trains weekly, and includes vital inspection and adjustment work on the tracks.
