Prolific shoplifter banned from Weymouth streets

Nicholas Gardner, a 43-year-old prolific shoplifter in Weymouth, has received a five-year ban from key areas in the town center following a criminal behaviour order. After admitting to over 60 theft offences, he was sentenced to 11 weeks in prison, suspended for 12 months, at Poole Magistrates’ Court. His crimes included thefts from Tesco Express. The order prohibits him from entering specific streets unless for pre-arranged appointments and requires him to engage with drug and alcohol services. Local police emphasized the significant impact of his actions on businesses and their commitment to addressing persistent shoplifting.
