Dorset is considering new e-scooter trials in Weymouth, Portland, Chickerell, Dorchester, Upton, and Corfe Mullen. The Dorset Council’s cabinet will make a decision in May on whether to proceed with the trial, which could start in the summer. In comparison, e-bikes have gained significant popularity in the region, with around 50,000 journeys logged since the launch of the Beryl scheme in August 2024. If approved, the e-scooter trials will aim to enhance transport options in these areas.
