Health officials are addressing confirmed cases of Meningitis B in Weymouth, involving three young people who are now recovering. Two of the affected individuals attend Budmouth Academy, while the third is from Wey Valley Academy. In response, the UK Health Security Agency, alongside Dorset Council and the NHS, is providing extra vaccinations and antibiotics as preventive measures. Antibiotics have already been administered to close contacts, and vaccinations will be offered to students in school years 7 to 13 across Weymouth, Portland, and Chickerell. Parents and students are advised to watch for symptoms and seek urgent medical attention if necessary.
