On April 18, Record Store Day attracted large crowds eager to purchase rare vinyl releases. At Pandemonium in Southbourne, around 100 people lined up, some starting as early as 11:30 PM the previous night. Store owner Eric Babbe noted the event celebrates independent record shops and features hundreds of limited releases. In Poole, Boiler Room Records also welcomed enthusiastic fans, like Archie Taylor, who sought specific items, and first-timer Donna, who enjoyed her shopping experience. The day’s atmosphere fostered community among music lovers, highlighting the significance of independent record stores.
