Charterhouse to Auction George III Silver Entrée Dish

A George III silver entrée dish, over 200 years old, will be auctioned at Charterhouse in Sherborne from April 27, with viewing starting the same day. Estimated between £2,500 and £3,500, it has been in the same family since 1809 and features an inscription honoring Major General Frederick Maitland, the governor of Grenada during his administration. Richard Bromell from Charterhouse shared that the family hopes new owners will appreciate its history. The auction provides an opportunity for collectors to acquire a piece of historical significance, potentially cherished for generations to come.
