On April 6, weekly food waste collection services began in Poole and Bournemouth, covering 102,673 households, including 59,099 Poole houses and 31,209 Bournemouth flats. Christchurch has had this service since 2012. The BCP Council announced that the rollout may cause temporary delays, with some areas experiencing missed collections, particularly in Merley and Bournemouth. Residents are advised to leave bins out for collection, expected within five working days. The council continues to address reported missed collections as it stabilizes the new service.
