Eleven budget-friendly homes approved at Dorset village outskirts

Concerns regarding potential impacts on the Cranborne Chase ‘Dark Skies’ listing were raised during a housing development proposal discussion. However, the committee approved plans that include directional street lighting on timers. The project will bring affordable housing to land south of Common Road, consisting of 11 units (five one-bedroom, three two-bedroom, two three-bedroom, and one four-bedroom), all managed by the Sixpenny Handley Community Land Trust to ensure ongoing availability for local residents. The development aims to enhance local sustainability and includes improved road access and adequate parking, while addressing drainage concerns for potential flooding.
