On April 16, 2026, members of Dorset’s carer community attended a special reception at Windsor Castle, hosted by King Charles III and Queen Camilla. The event honored dedicated paid and unpaid carers from across the UK. Lizzie Eden, nominated by NHS England, and Steve Duckett, nominated by Carers UK, represented Dorset HealthCare. Eden highlighted the importance of recognizing carers on a national stage, emphasizing their vital role in supporting communities. The reception aimed to raise awareness of the contributions of carers and connect them with necessary support services.
